IP/ BP/ EP/ USP Grade Starch

Bluecraft Agro Maize Starch IP/BP/USP is available in accordance with the standards of the Indian Pharmacopoeia (IP), British Pharmacopoeia (BP), European Pharmacopoeia (EP), and United States Pharmacopeia (USP). In addition, we offer ETO services for Pharma starch, wherein starch undergoes treatment with Ethylene Oxide (gas) to reduce microbial counts effectively.

Starch proves to be exceptionally valuable in tablet production due to its inert nature, cost-effectiveness, and versatility as fillers, binders, disintegrants, and glidants. Its fine particle size ensures a smooth tablet surface.

Description

Starch finds utility in both granulation formulation techniques. In dry granulation techniques, especially when the active ingredient is hygroscopic and challenging to dry after wet binding, maize starch serves as a proficient dry binder. Given its partial solubility in cold water, starch excels in tablets manufactured through wet granulation, serving dual roles as both a disintegrant and a binder. In capsule filling processes, starch acts as an effective binder, enhancing the uniformity of the capsule fill and forming a stable capsule plug. Starch also serves as an excipient in solid oral dosages.
